Empathize with a Character

Imagine you were a 12 years old girl living a normal and ordinary life but then one event changed that forever, you would probably be confused and sort of scared just like Sadie Kane was. Sadie was living with her grandparents, went to a school, and had best friends but when her brother and father came for one of their visits, the life she had was no longer. Sadie was very disappointed that for their visit her father was taking them to a museum so he can do after hours research. While at the museum, their father strangely asks Sadie and Carter to lock the curator in his office and by all means necessary to stay out of the room he is in, of course Sadie becomes really curious and anyone would in the kind of situation she was in. Sadie's intuition probably told her to sneak a peek at what her father was doing and people tend to follow their intuition so of course Sadie did what she was told not to do but it's understandable why she would. If you secretively watch your father and then discover he is releasing an Egyptian god, you would hopefully be like Sadie and put an effort into stopping him. Afterwords she was terrified and ultimately confused because a scary god was released, her father was captured, and weird people showed up but then disappeared. If all of which happened to Sadie happened to someone else they would probably act and respond in similar ways to what Sadie did and it is completely understandable why they would act that way under the circumstances. Throughout Sadie and Carter's adventure there is much confusion and fright but they get through it together.
